Smoking 1: Smoking heroin

Smoking heroin rolled in a cigarette is not a popular way to take the drug. The effects are relatively minor, and users do not get a sudden, intense high (which they call a ‘rush’ or ‘buzz’).

More effects are felt from ‘chasing the dragon’, inhaling the vapours produced by heating heroin on foil. Although injecting heroin gives an even more powerful rush, the advantage of chasing is that no injecting paraphernalia is needed. There is also little risk of infectious diseases like AIDS and hepatitis.
