Gum 5: From the aorta to the brain

Part of the oxygen-rich blood that flows through the aorta carries nicotine molecules to the brain. These may have some effect there, but because the nicotine is released only gradually from the chewing gum, the effects are barely discernible.

Just enough nicotine is released to ease the craving for a cigarette, making the user less likely to light up. The nicotine gum will not produce the relaxed feeling caused by smoking a cigarette.
