General 8: From the liver to the heart

After passing through the liver, the blood containing the unprocessed nicotine molecules and the breakdown products flow back to the heart. It is pumped to the lungs to absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide. If you are still smoking, new nicotine will also enter the bloodstream here.

When it returns to the heart, the blood will be pumped on to the rest of the body via the aorta.
