Ecstasy

When do you feel the effects of ecstasy?

After taking ecstasy, you feel the effects about 30 to 45 minutes later. As we have seen, the tablet first passes through the stomach and moves into the intestines with the other stomach contents. The MDMA is absorbed into the blood there, and it then travels through the liver to the heart.

It next traverses the pulmonary circulation (heart-lungs-heart) before continuing to the brain. That is when you feel its effects. Even if you don’t feel anything yet, the drug molecules are still on their way.
