The heart is the motor of the circulatory system. It pumps blood through the entire body. It delivers oxygen to all the organs. This enables nutrients to be converted into energy.
Humans have a two-circuit circulatory system. Blood circulation is divided into two pathways, both of which flow through the heart. These are known as the systemic (or greater) circulation and the pulmonary (or lesser) circulation.
We will now show how these work.
